Please find below the formal request to rejoin the organisation, sent by the Ukrainian Pirate Community to the Board, a few days ago.
The Board is currently discussing the opportunity to add the subject on a Council Meeting Agenda.
Dear Pirates,
The Ukrainian Pirate Community hereby expresses its interest and desire to join the European Pirate Party as an ordinary member. We share the fundamental values and principles that form the basis of your activities and are set out in the statute and manifesto of the European Pirate Party.
We are confident that our membership will strengthen the pirate party movement in Europe and beyond. The Ukrainian Pirate Community has been working to promote these ideas in Ukraine since 2010 and believes that by working together we will be able to more effectively confront the challenges of our time.
We are ready to provide all necessary information and participate in discussions regarding our accession. We look forward to your response and the opportunity to begin a fruitful cooperation.
Sincerely,
Serhiy Yaryhin.
Head of the “Ukrainian Pirate Community”
Unfortunately, we are not in easy times, so something is not going as we would like.
We were late in submitting all the documents for the 19th meeting of the Council. We hope that everything will be fine at the 20th meeting.
Therefore, we confirm our intention to become members of the community with observer status.
Serhii Yaryhin.
Head of the Ukrainian Pirate Community.
You remember correctly
Since 2014, our community has become much smaller, but continues to operate. We participate in the development of draft laws through our friendly deputies. We organized a free and open television studio in which amateur musicians can record their first album under a free license. We promote self-government in territorial communities. We interact with government representatives at all levels. Our representatives entered the joint regulatory body under the National Council of Ukraine for Television and Radio Broadcasting …
That is, we are not sitting idly by. And strangely enough, our influence on politicians and society is quite significant.
