Right to Housing

Today, access to housing in the European Union is a problem for many Europeans, and some even live on the streets in the richest EU member states. As a party, we fully recognize the right to housing as described in Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

We believe that access to affordable and decent housing is a fundamental human right, and we are committed to making it a reality for all Europeans. To achieve this goal, we will establish a comprehensive European housing strategy with specific targets and actions aimed at increasing the availability of affordable housing.

Our housing strategy will include targets for the proportion of affordable housing and the number of new affordable units to be built. We will work closely with EU member states to develop and implement this strategy, providing support and resources to help them achieve these targets.

Housing First

As part of our European housing strategy, we will prioritize the Housing First approach to combat homelessness. Housing First is a proven approach that prioritizes providing people experiencing homelessness with a stable, permanent housing solution as quickly as possible, followed by supportive services to help them address any underlying issues that may have contributed to their homelessness.

The Housing First approach is an important tool to ending homelessness in Europe, and we will work to promote this approach throughout the EU. This will include increasing funding for existing Housing First programs and providing support to EU member states to implement Housing First initiatives.

We believe that everyone should have access to safe, decent, and affordable housing, regardless of their income or social status. We will work tirelessly to make this a reality for all Europeans.

Danke für den ersten Beitrag
I feel we can include Housing First thematic point in a somehow shortened version into the Regional Development topic.
It should connect organically to Just Transition funds and other strongpoints.
