Report Secretary General September 2025

This is the third report that I write to the board since I started the role as Secretary General. These reports will normally be conducted on a monthly basis, and they are submitted to the board ahead of their meetings, in line with the rules for the Secretary General. The format of the reports are likely to develop over time. Feel free to post questions and suggestions for improvements in this thread.

Secretary General Report - September 2025

Covers the period of 2025-08-24 to 2025-09-20

Management

  • The team Leads for all 5 teams have been appointed (please see separate thread for their introduction).
  • Formally the new Secretariat, including the MT, is expected to be operational starting from the first of October. Before that the focus will be on recruitment and setting up structures.
  • A first MT meeting was held 15 September, where all the TLs got to introduce themselves, and a discussion was held on how to work together going forward, and priorities in recruiting volunteers for the Secretariat.

Operations

  • After the recruitment of TLs, we opened up a call on Linkedin for Team Assistants, and interviews are currently underway. The aim is to have an assistant for each team in place before October.
  • TL of Operations have gotten access to the Linkedin account, to be able to help all TLS post volunteer openings there. This requires the MT to get personal email accounts.

IT

  • We had a problem with Discourse being spammed, that was solved wit the assistance of the board. TL IT is currently in the process of updating the Discourse installation.
  • TL IT has been given access to Mattermost, to look into making it more stable.
  • We are in the process of setting up email accounts for all volunteers in the Secretariat. Currently waiting for our TL IT to get access to our mailaccounts server.

Communication

Commmunity & Outreach

  • The Council has endorsed another ECI. The TL C&O is aware that this will fall under their responsibility
  • Waiting for clarity on if our chair can come to the VOLT GA.

Policy

  • There’s an interview with a volunteer to join as Researched in the Policy team scheduled for next week.
