About the preamble category
As you have noticed, I am presenting the idea of introducing “the pirate movement” in the preamble, if you agree that we can talk about such a thing. The fact that we, as a rather new lot of parties, have managed such things as agreeing on the program for the last EU-election, something that the old parties have failed at is interesting and telling, and really points to that we have something special in common that qualifies as being a movement.
Answering the bullets:
-
The category should be an introduction to the potential voter answering the questions: Who are these people, where did they come from and what do they want. In general and with the EU. At best it could also serve as a proposed way of answering these questions when party members are approached with them.
-
It should be different from the other categories in that there should preferably be some logic to be found if you refer the content in the different political subcategories to the content of the preamble. In the others , we present concrete proposals, in the preamble there is (should generally contain) a background.
-
It should contain answers to the questions I mentioned: Who are these people, where did they come from and what do they want. In general and with the EU. Providing a bit of history, explanation of the name, and some common values and perspectives, especially on the EU.
-
It is needed, especially in the countries where people hardly have discovered the pirates, or know our existence but just react negatively to our name. As such it could not logically be merged into another category or subcategory.
